Eagles Basketball League and Balderstone Sports Institute Announce Strategic Partnership

The Eagles Basketball League is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Balderstone Sports Institute (BSI), marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration aimed at creating meaningful opportunities for student-athletes, coaches and clubs across the basketball community.

This partnership brings together two organisations that share a common vision: to grow the game of basketball while creating pathways that combine sporting excellence with quality education.

As one of South Africa’s fastest-growing youth basketball leagues, the Eagles Basketball League is excited to partner with Balderstone Sports Institute to build lasting relationships that will positively impact the entire basketball ecosystem. Beyond sponsorship, this partnership is focused on sustained growth and development through education, high-performance opportunities and community engagement.

League participants can look forward to a range of exciting activations throughout the season as Balderstone Sports Institute becomes an active partner within the Eagles Basketball League. These initiatives will create continuous engagement for players, parents, coaches and clubs, further strengthening the basketball community and providing valuable opportunities both on and off the court.

Supporting the Growth of Basketball

As part of the partnership, Balderstone Sports Institute will:

🏀 Provide sponsorship to support the continued growth and operation of the Eagles Basketball League.
🎓 Offer a limited number of bursaries to league participants wishing to join the Balderstone Sports Institute full-time Basketball Academy with integrated schooling.

Bursary Opportunities for 2027

Players participating in the Eagles Basketball League will have access to exciting educational opportunities through BSI.

Minimum 20% bursary towards Grade 8 tuition at Balderstone Sports Institute for all current Grade 7 league participants entering in 2027.
Additional partial and full bursaries will be awarded to outstanding student-athletes who demonstrate excellence both academically and on the basketball court, subject to meeting the Institute’s selection criteria.
