Basket Buddies is a premier basketball academy entering a transformative era with its 2026 “New Era of Excellence” season. Shifting from traditional coaching to a comprehensive Academy Model, the club’s primary goal is to develop complete athletes and future leaders rather than just basketball players.

Core Philosophy and Programs Holistic Development:

The academy integrates a “Holistic Player Development” model that includes the Buddies Nutri-wellness Program for recovery and diet, alongside the EQIS (Emotional Quotient in Sports) curriculum. Life Skills Curriculum: Every training session includes 15 minutes dedicated to four non-negotiable pillars: Respect Yourself, Respect Others, Respect the Game, and Ubuntu (“I am because we are”).

Professional Standards:

Basket Buddies emphasizes professional identity through personalized kits featuring &1 Apparel integration. Training and Competition Venues: Training is held three days per week at both Midrand Primary School and Thatchfield Sports grounds.

Competitive Exposure:

Players participate in official leagues, friendly home and away games, and intensive holiday training camps. Milestones: The season concludes with a Graduation Ceremony to honor those who have completed the Nutri-wellness and EQIS modules. Community and Governance The club fosters a strong community spirit through the Buddies Care Outreach Program, which teaches players the importance of giving back, and a Parents Committee that ensures family voices are represented in the academy’s governance.
