Founded in 2022, the Equestria Giants Basketball Club (EGBC) was established to promote the
growth of basketball in Pretoria East, particularly within the Equestria Estate and surrounding areas.
Since its inception, EGBC has developed a reputation for its inclusive approach to basketball,
welcoming players of all ages and skill levels into a supportive and competitive environment.
With over 100 active playing members across junior and senior divisions, the Club is affiliated with
the Tshwane Basketball Association and competes in several regional and national leagues. Through
dedicated coaching and well-organized training programs, Equestria Giants has successfully built a
community-oriented club focused on developing basketball skills, fostering sportsmanship, and
creating lasting bonds among its members.
EGBC takes pride in its ability to offer high-quality coaching and training facilities, ensuring that all
players, from beginners to advanced athletes, have the opportunity to grow within the sport.
Beyond basketball, the Club also values the importance of instilling life skills such as teamwork,
discipline, and perseverance, making it more than just a sports club—it is a family.
